Not sure if you’ve seen it lately, but on subway cars, on streets and all over the world, people are playing Pokemon Go!

So, I took a look at how many people were searching terms related to it.

It didn’t look like anything special was occurring.  So, I moved over to google trends to see what they had to say:

Wow!  The numbers seemed to contradict the numbers above or maybe they haven’t fully tabulated the results over at the Adwords department yet.  They also have some screwy things going on with there numbers.  So, I’m not sure if I could trust their numbers.

However, it’s always tough to gauge how much is “a lot?”  As a result, it’s best to compare against the top searches.

As you can see from my previous posts, “Top Google Searches Study: 2014,” several top searches are:

  • maps
  • weather
  • porn (can’t forget all the adult searches)

Comparing against them, “pokemon” has more searches all of a sudden:
