Search Engine Market Share in 2025
In the latest report leading into 2025, Comscore reports the latest share of our daily searches. Google remains dominant, but continues to lose market share to Microsoft. However, Google still represents more than 60% of the US queries as of December 2024 (the latest comscore data):
- if you compare this to our last check in 2022, you will notice Microsoft has garnered more than that 1% point with Verizon Media also losing since then (probably contributing to Microsoft’s gain)
- The Ask Network crept up a fraction
Comscore Explicit Core Search Monthly Queries
- while market share may have crept down for Google, their monthly searches have increased from 12.167 billion in February 2022 to 14,822 billion here in December 2024
- Microsoft’s monthly queries have increased even more significantly from 5.304 billion to 7.049 billion
