Kpop is Crushing YouTube’s Views Records for 24 Hours

With 4 out of the Top 10 and the #1 and #3 spots, Kpop is showing the world that the genre of music is not just for Asia, but potentially the rest of the world.   The US ties for the top # of positions with 4 as well with 1 video coming from Youtube and another from India.    In contrast to the all time top music videos on Youtube today, the Koreans appears to get a large number of views initially.   However, as you can see with the metrics shortly thereafter, they are collecting large numbers shortly thereafter.

74.6 million views, Released April 12, 2019, Views today (5/3/2019): 252,280,893 views

2. “Me!” by Taylor Swift (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco)

65.2 million views, Released April 26, 2019, Views today (5/3/2019): 134,687,090 views

3. (Kpop) “Kill This Love” by Blackpink

56.7 million views, Released April 5, 2019, Views today (5/3/2019): 288,194,295 views

4. “Thank U, Next” by Ariana Grande

55.4 million views, Released November 30, 2018, Views today (5/3/2019): 365,586,095 views

5. (Kpop) “Idol” by BTS

45.9 million views, Released August 24, 2018, Views today (5/3/2019): 448,714,633 views

6. “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift

43.2 million views, Released August 27, 2017, Views today (5/3/2019): 1,044,376,427 views

7. (Kpop) “Fancy” by Twice

42.1 million views, Released April 22, 2019, Views today (5/3/2019): 75,623,476 views

Kpop also occupies the #11th, 12th, 13th, and14th positions as well.

Ddu-Du Ddu-Du had 36.2 million views in the first 24 hours, Gentleman by Psy racked up 36 million, Fake Love by BTS had 35.9 mill, and Yes or Yes by Twice accrued 31.4 mill.
