Total U.S. – Desktop Home & Work Locations
Comcore recently announced their latest market share data on what drives search in the United States on desktop. In their brief report, Google continues to dominate search and occupies the highest market share. Specifically, the data crunching agency identified:
- Google Sites: 63.40%
- Microsoft Sites: 23.90%
- Oath Network: 11.60%
- Ask Network 1.1%
In their report, they showed that the two largest search engines in the United States increased their market share slightly by .1% each from February. The Oath Network which includes Yahoo, AOL, and Verizon’s Digital Media Services lost .2% market share of the searches in the U.S. The Ask Network held their minority of searches at 1.1%.
qSearch by Comscore also reported:
- Google’s search volume increased by 11% from February to March 2018. Approximately 11,441,000,000 searches were conducted in the month — up from 10,352,000,000, the month before.
- Microsoft’s sites experienced a very similar growth in searches jumping 11% as well to about 4,309,000,000 searches.
- Even though the Oath Network decreased in market share, their searches still rose 8% to 2,093,000,000 searches approximately.
- And The Ask Network still generates 201,000,000 searches a month approximately which would represent a 10% growth from the month before.
